Review of book Hero (R. A. Salvatore) / Homecoming 3

Something akin to “peace" has come to the Underdark. The demon hordes have receded, and now the matron mothers argue over the fate of Drizzt Do'Urden. Even so, it becomes clear to one matriarch after another that while the renegade drow may come and go Menzoberranzan, the City of Spiders will crawl forever on. And so Drizzt is free to return to his home on the surface once again. Scores are settled as lives are cut short, yet other lives move on. For the lone drow there is only a single final quest: a search for peace, for family, for home for the future.

Review of book Archmage (R. A. Salvatore) / Homecoming 1

The pall that had descended over the North is gone, and a new day has dawned on a victorious Mithral Hall, but no matter how bright things seem on the surface, Drizzt and his companions know that what lurks just under their feet remains steeped in evil and charged with unimaginable power. The dark elves of Menzoberranzan, including the powerful Archmage Gromph, aren’t done with Drizzt yet. And consumed by their own power struggles, feeling backed into a corner, the drow may just be desperate enough to call on demonic forces from the deepest reaches of the Abyss, and unleash a disaster even the Underdark could never have prepared for.

Elves, dwarves, swords, runes, magic creature, dragon, magic, sacrifice, romance, politics, smiths, metallurgy, false gods, outcasts, rebellion..

Review of Age of Swords (Michael J. Sullivan) / The Legends of the First Empire 2
Now the thrilling saga continues as the human uprising is threatened by powerful enemies from without and bitter rivalries within.

Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but long standing enmities dividing the Rhune make it all but impossible to unite against a common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess makes the Fhrey indistinguishable from gods?

The answer lies across the sea in a faraway land populated by a reclusive and dour race who feels nothing but disdain for both Fhrey and mankind. With time running out, Persephone leads the gifted young seer Suri, the Fhrey sorceress Arion, and a small band of misfits in a desperate search for aid a quest that will take them into the darkest depths of Elan. There, an ancient adversary waits an enemy as surprising as it is deadly.

Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart:
Review of Age of Myth (Michael J. Sullivan) / The Legends of the First Empire 1
invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever.

Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.
